It's A Girl, Baby Giacomelli born 4am, 1.12.08

I'm afraid I can't give you a name as when I spoke to the new Dad at 4am he and Ali hadn't decided! Ah well, I'm sure we'll hear soon.

Lucky Jim is off to England in the morning so will be able to see the baby tomorrow afternoon. We do go over together in 2 weeks so I'll be able to see her then. It was all a bit gruelling I gather, long time and Ali was just worn out so baby had to be delivered by forceps and has a bit of a cone head as a result. Then it was surgery for Ali to repair the damage ~wince~. But she's fine and Joe is over the moon. As he spoke to me in the early hours he had the baby on his lap.

Naturally we were up a bit late today. It's been a cold but gorgeous day, sunny, clear and bright. The grass crunched under our feet. Jim sawed 2 big branches from an old ash tree at the side of the allotment. It was taking a lot of the light from that side of the plot and the wood will keep us warm. We had a mega sawing session in the barn so I have enough wood to keep me warm while Jim's away.

Just before it got dark, we walked around the meadow with Buster, who charged about like a maniac. He just loves it. Then it was inside to feed the animals and wind Stanley up for the evening.

Buster often has an odd hour at this time, as he is tonight. He can't seem to settle and tries to go to sleep standing up, with his head on my knee, or Jim's. It's not terribly successful as you can imagine. Crazy animal. Then he goes to the door but doesn't want to go out and hides behind the curtains. What a nutcase.

Now I'm off to write Christmas Cards so Jim can post the ones needing to go far and wide while he is in the UK.

I'm a Gran for the 7th time!!

Best wishes on the new arrival, Gina! Glad to hear everyone is doing well. You certainly don't look old enough to be a grandmother for the seventh time!

Looking forward to name and pix!

Can't wait for the name decision myself Sam. They knew it was a girl! Maybe waiting to see what names suits her.
