16 days to Christmas and The Builders are Coming

Yes, really. I don't know how many times we've been put off by the builders. It was too wet then they had to finish a job then, well, who knows what. Martin turned up last night and was discussing various aspects of the job and they're supposed to be starting tomorrow. Incredible. Christmas is definitely cancelled in this house!

So today we had to empty our conservatory - no mean feat as it was full of tools, bedding, table and 4 chairs and a 3 piece conservatory suite. We managed to move most of it but it's all rather squeezed in here and in barns and sheds. We've put one of the chairs in here and Buster thinks it's just for him and has been on it all evening!

I burnt 2 fingers on my right hand yesterday. I tried to heat some milk in a non microwavable mug, got hold of the handle and it just about stuck to me. Then of course I dropped it, milk everywhere! I ran them under the cold tap but 2 big blisters have appeared. Last night it was really painful but today they're both fine and no more pain. I'm trying not to break the skin on the blisters to allow them to heal.

Santa's workshop continues in our kitchen/diner. All had to be done by Wednesday as we're off to the UK on Thursday, early hours. We'll be back the following Wednesday late evening so be good everyone. I don't think I'll be able to post much but I'll try. One thing's for sure, there'll be loads of photos when I return!

Oh, some fire cement fell out of Stanley and flames were leaping out of the back and burning the curtain we have behind him to hide the dreadful pipework and general mess! We let the fire go out and this morning Jim replaced the fire cement and Stanley seems to be working better than ever before.

I'll take some photos of the work as it progresses too. I'm quite excited about it really. It will be wonderful go have 3 bedrooms and 2 offices at the end of it.
