Visitors to The Deenery, UK Trip to 02 October 2009

27th - 28th Septemer 2009

I took Buster for a walk down to Lough Graney as we were going to be leaving him for a few days. I met a couple of visitors from Limerick and Kerry and we had quite a chat, then Kevin came out and joined us! Buster played with Merriman, Kevin's dog.

We headed round the back of Kevin's to the lake shore. The water had receded quite a lot and we were able to walk along the side for a while.

This house is next door to Kevin's and is quite new, as you can see. The owners have a lovely view of the lake.

Lough Graney looking away from Kevin's house.

Seeded loose strife with Lough Graney behind.

Buster found a big pile of dried fish bait and eat it of course. This made him very thirsty!

The Lough was quite still with a mirror like section in the centre.

Forget-me-Nots were in flower by the lake. The warm weather has fooled them.

Some fishermen went past the stand and waved.

When Buster and I got back, we had visitors, Joe and Tom plus Millie, Buster's girlfriend.

Jim showed them the ex-barn! I think they were a bit surprised.
Buster joined in.

Buster started howling and Tom bunged up his ears!! Buster has taught Millie to howl too!

Monday and Tuesday, September 28th and 29th.

Jim and I caught the late plane to Gatwick and hired a car from there, then drove down the Worthing. Jenny, Jim's younger daughter, was just off to bed so we just had a drink then headed off to bed. Jim had a meeting in London all Tuesday and didn't return until late.

I managed to fit in a doctor's appointment in the afternoon and Ali, Jim's elder daughter, came over with Poppy. I did lots of baby holding of Sonny, who is just so cute. He looks just like his dad! Poppy is nearly 10 months old and crawling. Amazing.

Poppy.

Auntie Jenny held Poppy for a while while Auntie Ali had a hold of Sonny.

Poppy didn't like this one bit, she was very jealous!!

After my doctor's appointment I had a walk on the beach and a quick look around the few shops that were open. Matt, Jenny's husband, cooked us an amazing Spanish stew with Choritzo sausages and Palma ham, green beans and asparagus spears. It was delicious.

Wednesday 30th September and Thursday 1st October.

Jim got to hold his new Grandson:

He has lovely chubby cheeks and punk hair! (Sonny that is).

Sonny smiling.

We went for a walk into town as it was market day and Sunny wore his hoody!
We dropped Jenny off at home and headed for Ali's house to see Poppy.

Grandad Jim gave Poppy a fish I had bought for her.
Look at those eyes!
Then Grandad fed Poppy beetroot and tofu.
Gran had a play too.
Grandad threw Poppy about and she loved it.

Then Daddy Joe came home.

We left them in peace then and drove back to Worthing while the sun was setting. We drove along the beach road and took some photos by and on Worthing beach.

This one came out blurred so I played with it.

That evening we had a take away Chinese meal delivered to the house. What a luxury.

Family Gordine. Sonny, Matt and Jenny.
Sonny aged 8 weeks.

On our last day, the Thursday 1st October, I spent all day weeding and clearing the front garden, hacking down the overgrown plants and generally making it easier for Jenny to keep under control. I was exhausted! Jim and I left about 7.15pm. Jenny was having a bit of a bad day with Sonny as he kept crying but the clinic said he was fine and is gaining weight as he should. I had a last hold and we managed to get a smile:

Me and Sonny.

We arrived back about midnight last night. The whole place was thick with dust, the plumber hadn't been, nor the electrician so we were a bit depressed. At least today, Friday, the new wood chip boiler has arrived and been connected up to the flu. It has cream panels though, and I ordered red. Incredible. No other workmen arrived. Maybe Monday....

I picked Buster up from the kennels, brought him home and went to bed as I was somewhat fed up. Jim had started clearing up when I got up again and we both set too and cleaned the kitchen. It's certainly an improvement.

I hope everyone has a good weekend.

Welcome home! I missed you but I knew you would provide us with some wonderful family photos after your trip. Poppy and Sonny are just precious. It's is nice to see all the family and enjoy the pretty sunset photos. Sorry the addition seems to have come to a stand still - we went through a year of waiting ourselves. I have a few sore muscles after some yard work today! Take care and don't work too hard.

Beautiful views around the Lough Gina and beautiful babies too. I am going to meet our newest great-grandson this afternoon. The sunsets over Worthing are glorious and the blurry one is very arty.

I really am pleased that you keep posting the trials and tribulations of building work - it makes my trials in that area pale into insignificance!! We are alost there - just the plumber to actually fix up the shower unit and plumb in the new loo - and the builder to put in the bedroom window double glazing and then we are through. I have to say though that I shall really miss the builders when they go - they have been such good company.
Those sunsets at Worthing are fantastic. Buster looks such a lovely dog - would love to meet him.

Glad you are back, and glad you had good Granny-time! Those two are quite delicious! And that sunset!!!!
Sorry about the lack of progress in your absence- bummer! And what I'd like to know is how does a house always be so dusty when all we get is inches of #*#*#*#< RAIN?

BT! Welcome back! Wonderful photographs. It looks like you had such a lovely time with family. Poppy and Sonny! Oh my, they are absolutely scrumptious. Those bright eyes and cute itty bitty smiles. Such magic. Now that you're back, the work will get done. It seems with construction, while the cat's away.....

And a happy belated birthday to you! YAY!!!!

I truly can't get over how both tall and big Buster has gotten.

Wow!

And he has a girlfriend?

Aww!!!

Also, I'm happy that both you and Jim had a great time during your trip. *big smile*

Plus those photos are wonderful. *big big smile*

Lastly, I was looking at the green patchwork fields in the photo of the people in the boat. And i thought that not only do I want to someday walk through these fields but that you, Jim, and the pets are all so blessed to be living there. *happy smile*

Hope that today goes all right for you all.

God bless and take care. Bye, :)!

Oh, and I can relate to your renovations woes (and I'm very sorry to know about this happening. :() because there are contractors who are supposed to be working on our apartment's bathroom. And they are taking their sweet, swee time about it.

Man, oh man! :(.

So I both sympathize and understand what you are going through in regards to these renovations.

God bless and take care. Bye, :)!
