Starting Early, Sat, 16.8.08, 2.23am

I wish I was an ostrich
With neck all long and thin
I'd find a big deep bucket
And plunge my head right in.

I'm now watching the rain being blown sideways by the gale force wind. And it's cold. Jim has lit Stanley but it's still cold. I got into the garden for about 10 minutes to finish cutting the grass round the rockery, then the heavens opened again. Grumble grumble.

At least at The Olympics, things have been better. Another gold for Rebecca Adlington in the pool, a gold and silver in the cycling. The most amazing gold in the men's coxless fours. I really thought they'd blown it and then they surged forward in the last quarter of the race to win. Incredible.

The sailing's been cancelled today as there's no wind, hopefully it will be on tomorrow. So it's not all doom and gloom.

Jim decided he'd clear up this afternoon, so expected me to too. I went up to my storage room and sorted out some of my craft things. Pretty hopeless as there's nowhere to put them really. If I ever get my play room built (part of the planned work) I'll be in heaven.

I just feel sleepy all the time at the moment. Soon after I'd got up I was falling asleep on the settee watching the Olympics. Now I'm fighting off sleep again. I need sunshine. Jim was furious with Buster as at some point he's chewed the corner of our new coffee table. So now he's banned from the snug again. Poor Buster.

I'm off to the UK on 29th August to 1st Sept. It's my daughter K's 41st birthday on the 30th, then my 60th exactly a week later. Jim's son Russell also gets married on that day, 6th September, in the UK. I do get in a bit of a tizz sometimes when big events are about to happen. I get the 'running away' syndrome, but usually get over it.

I think I'll go and sort some more of my craft things. Sorry for grumpy blog.

This in my 'comments' from Leatherdyke, aka Rachel

I wish I were a glow-worm for a glow-worm's never glum. How can you be moody when the sun shines out your bum?

That made me smile!

Hello BT, good to meet you. Thanks for stopping by and for your kind words. I'm glad you liked the paintings as they're done by my other half! You live in a lovely part of the world. On a very still clear day we can see the Wicklow Mts here - but not sign lately, like you too much rain!

chrish, thanks for coming to my blog. I was going to add 'I hadn't heard of Tom Tomos', but thought it might make me appear ignorant!! A very talented other half you have too!
