The End of Poppy's Visit 12 -13 March 2010

Poppy in Coole Park

Gosh this seems such a long time ago. I've been to the UK since my last posting on here. On the Friday Poppy and Ali were here, we visited Coole Park, one of our favourite places. It was cloudy but didn't rain, so all was well. Poppy had a great time both in and out of the pushchair. The turlough was quite low, considering in the floods it was at a record high. Here is a photo of it:

Sometimes all the land you can see here is covered with water.

We walked up to the more formal area of Coole Park, where Poppy roamed free. She wanted to push her pushchair and got a bit cross every time anyone else tried to help. She had such fun though.
Ali with Poppy pushing the pushchair.

We also gave her lots of 'swings' between us - you know the sort:

'wheeeeee'
Inevitably followed by 'gain' (again)!

We sat at a picnic table and Poppy munched her way through a few raisins and lots of 'cots' (dried apricots). She just loves them.

There is a sun dial in this area and Jim stood on it and told the time!

Now Jim wants to build one in our garden!

Poppy enjoying a last run.

We didn't have much time on Saturday morning as sadly our visitors were flying home. We thoroughly enjoyed having them and I'm sure they enjoyed their stay in Ireland.

Poppy's a doll, and so delicate boned! Isn't it lovely seeing little people race around outside?

Getting there J. Thanks for a great few days. xxx

Hi steven, thank you for your great comments. I love that age too, especially their speech. I was rather pleased with that lake photo.

Hello Heckety, she is delicate. Both her parents are small and I think she will be too. I love it when they can run free.

Love the pink! What a cool idea of a sundial, and will he be standing out there on a regular basis so you can know what time it is? :)Bea

Hi Bea, oh I think he probably will - but only when the sun's shining! It would be a fun project though.

Splendid sundial! It should be easy enough with rocks, I think.

It was indeed Lisa.

kj, you are so right about Poppy's age. It's just the best. I will pop over later to see the tribute.

Thanks Rachel, Jim thought so too!! They'd have to be flat though.

She sure is soul. xxx

More lovely photos - Poppy is such a little sweetie. Love the idea of that sundial - you've got plenty of space for one!

I like the idea of a sundial. I think they are soooooo neat!

Wondered if you had subscribed to that newsletter I sent you. Always fun to keep up on what is newly available.

Always love the scenery - sundial is great, I have a very small one in my yard - Poppy is a real sweety, it's a wonderful age, 2 of my grandsons are two and what fun.

Oh, Gina! Poppy! Gasp! She is incredibly beautiful and adorable! I think I could just stare at her all day. Awww, my heart -- it has melted. So sorry they had to return home.

A sundial! I love those things, and wouldn't it be splendid in your garden!

BT said...

Thanks Heather, she is a cutie, isn't she? I think the sundial's a great idea too. Number 99 on Jim's list of 'to dos'.

aims, I don't think I got the note about the newsletter? Can you re-send it to me?

Dianne, you are so right about Poppy's age - just so so sweet and funny. I have a little sundial too, but a big floor sized one would be such fun.

Bella, lovely to see you. I knew you would love Poppy on sight. She is a star! I think the sundial will be way down on the list of Jim's jobs to do! I hope you're keeping well. xxx
