Bad Back Stops Play

A close up of The Drinker Moth with my new super Canon camera. Do click on it if you have a moment.

Oh my back! I must have done too much gardening yesterday and today I can't actually stand up straight. If I try, my lower back goes into spasm. I'm hoping a good sleep will sort it out.

ATCs

I have done a few new ATCs. OK Jason, you can skip this bit (he finds them boring).

The Puffin Series

Chocolate or Fish?

'I can Fly'

'Puff-in Boots'. Sorry, I couldn't resist!

I've gone all zentangly too, these are my early attempts:

I tend to play with these while I'm waiting for photos to upload!

Butterflies

Jim took these excellent photos of butterflies in the garden:

A tortoiseshell on a French Marigold.

A ringlet Butterfly.

This poor meadow butterfly has been in the wars!

This is another moth that was on our wall. I'm afraid we don't know what it is called!

Jim's Veg Patch

Doesn't that look just splendid? We are eating fresh veg almost daily and soft fruit too. It's all delicious.

A lovely cabbage

The peas have been amazing and are still coming. I love fresh peas straight from the pod.

Lough Graney with a super sky above. This view is just by our gate.

The wind machines are on the far horizon. This shot shows how good the zoom is on my new Canon PowerShot SX210. It has a 14 times zoom yet it fits in my pocket. Marvellous.

Can you Solve the Mystery?

A while ago I posted some photos of our aquilegias. One of you out there asked if you could have some seeds from the yellow one, which I duly collected today. Now I can't find the person who asked for them. Was it you? Do get in touch if it was.

Visitor

Jim's sister Val, who lives in New Zealand, is coming for a few days on Sunday. I'm looking forward to it. Jim has been working hard on the kitchen/diner today and it's looking better, but it's still not finished. I'm sure there will be some photos from Val's visit.

Have a great weekend everyone.

So sorry to hear about your back Gina. I hope rest will help you to feel better soon.
Lovely photos of the moths, butterflies and the veg. garden. If Harriet were there, she would fight you for peas from the pod - they are her favorite!
Love the new ATC's. I know you will enjoy your visitor and I look forward to seeing pictures. Hope Buster is feeling better too.

No it wasnt me who asked for the seeds. Just the bulbs. :) I understand about aching backs. But I just go back out and work in the gardens. :) Hot soak and Icing should help.

Oh my that first moth has a fur coat the colors of my new kitchen tile!
I hope your back heals immediately!
I continue to smile each time I see this banner of yours.

That's an amazing pic of the moth Gina - the close-up detail is wonderfully clear. Do hope your back will soon be better - take care. Great ATCs and Jims' butterfly pics are gorgeous. The veg patch looks worthy of Gardeners' World. You might get more rain than you want at times in Ireland but it must help produce lush, juicy vegs and fruit.

I love seeing those moths. They look like teddy bears with wings they are so furry. Jim's veggie garden looks like a picture. I am amazed that you have peas now. It is way too hot here for peas. I love them right out of the garden too. Yumm. Speaking of yummy, A friend of mine is just returned from a trip to Ireland. She brought me Chocolate from Skellings Chocolate Co. Have you heard of this chocolate before?
It is quite yummy.Love the ATCs. Your Zens are wonderful. I hope your back is better today. Have a great weekend with our company.

Fantastic photos Gina both of the cards and of the butterflies (I have a thing about moths, so didn't enlarge!)
Jim's veggie garden looks wonderful. We have peas, peas and more peas, ditto broad beans and raspberries - but isn't home produce good?

Re the yellow aquelegia - I didn't ask you for the seed but if you have one or two to spare I would be delighted with them. If not, don't worry, save me some next year.

I've just read back through several posts - I've been busy and not gotten around to all my blogger friends for a few days. So glad Buster returned! And sorry to hear about your back - take it easy for a day! You deserve it. I've never cared for moths before but you've made them much more interesting to me than I'd have thought possible. They really do have a beauty about them, don't they?

Hello Mildred. My back is a bit better today thanks. I couldn't rest as Val is coming in the morning but maybe it's better to keep moving. I had to laugh at Harriet liking peas in the pod. She is a funny dog. Buster is certainly back to his old self. He's better when he's quiet!!

Hi Cris. I remember about the Lucifer bulbs. The back is better today, I just sort of ignored it!!

Ooh, I love your new kitchen tiles then Lynn! I'm glad you enjoy the banner.

Thanks Rachel, I will.

Hi Heather, thank you for the lovely comments about my ATCs and the veg patch and moths. I'm so pleased with my new camera. You are right about the rain but we do need sun too, especially for tomatoes, which we've never had any success with!

Hi K, glad you like the moths of course and butterflies! The back is a bit better today, I sort of ignored it! You must have a play with zentangles, you'd love it.

Thank you Lisa - teddy bears with wings!! lol. Now look Lisa, we don't do hot here in Ireland!! Not that hot anyway so the peas love it! I have heard of Skellings chocolate but I can't say I've had any. I love any chocolate - I must search some out! I hope she enjoyed her trip. I'm glad you like the Zens, I'm new to them but do enjoy them. The back is getting better thanks. Val comes in the morning, so it should be a few fun days.

Hi steven, I was thinking of you the other day when I saw you comment on another blog. Glad you like the moths and butterfly photos. Lush is the word for our garden - it's all the rain that does it!

Jinksy, Weaver and Patty, I've emailed you. Thanks for stopping by.
