Soulbrush ATCs, Pay it Forward, Dare You? 17.4.09

Oh more lovely ATCs, this time from Soulbrush. They are all hand painted and in an African theme.
Left, African ladies, centre, Masks and right, Huts and people. Aren't they wonderful?

Now Soulbrush has also got me involved in another venture, Pay it Forward.

I found this wonderful idea of paying it forward....this is all with something creative.....'

Here's how it works....
The first five (5) people to respond to this post will get something made by me if they want to be involved. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations so please read carefully:

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make. Whatcha get is whatcha get.
2. What I create will be just for you, with love.
3. It’ll be done this year (2009).
4. I will not give you any clue what it’s going to be. It will be something made in the real world and not something cyber. It may be weird or beautiful. Or it may be monstrous and annoying. Heck, I might bake something for you and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that’s for sure!
5. I reserve the right to do something strange.
6. In return, all you need to do is post this text on your blog and make 5 things for the first 5 to respond to your blog post.
7. Send your mailing address - after I contact you.
IMPORTANT: This offer is null and void if I do not see you post your own blog to pay this forward.

Have a wonderful day....
Well who wants to play?
Who dares...........?

Well, that sounds fun, doesn't it? I will not be baking a cake or baking anything, rest assured, I don't want to lose any of you!!

Now for the rest of today. Jim and I got up early and went to look at 'the table' in the closing down sale of a shop in Gort. Wow, what an amazing thing it is. It's not just a table, it's A TABLE, with a swagger like John Wayne, the looks of Brad Pitt and the voice must be of Richard Burton. Of course, we just had to have it!

It weighs an absolute ton and 2 kindly chaps carried it to the back of our car. We had Buster with us and he then had to move to the back seat, which he didn't like one bit! He shivered and looked miserable. Table is still in the back of the car, as Jim and I wouldn't be able to lift it out alone. We will have to enlist the help of our good neighbours, Joe and his son Danny, those two plus Jim should just about be able to manage it.

Now, how does one describe Table. Hmm, it's like the bottom of a real tree. It has various 'flat' parts carved out of the tree and they have been polished. The inside part is still quite rough and, well, tree like. Hmm, not doing very well, am I? Lots of people hated it apparently, but we loved it. It will look wonderful in our new extension's sun room. As soon as it is out of the car I will, of course, photograph it from every angle. What are you all thinking? From Jim's description to me, I imagined it pretty much as it is, but not as high. Apart from our bed, it's the first piece of furniture we have bought together. I think it may become 'a talking point'.

Today it's not been a very bright day, so no new photos. I carried on with the border at the edge of the arboretum. It's looking splendid. Jim's seeds are sprouting like mad, so we'll be able to plant some flowers in there soon, as well as the shrubs we already have, though they are rather small.

This afternoon, the builders turned up for about an hour!! I think at this rate the extension will be finished about July. We are going to look at Joe's house tomorrow to see his windows. If we like the colour of them, then they can order ours. Should be interesting to see his house. We think when they're not at ours they're busy with Joe's. Ah well, Rome wasn't built in a day.

That's about it for today, a nice short blog for Jason! Don't forget to read all the rules with regard to the pay it forward before you commit.
